GIF or MP4?
Pinterest stores most "GIFs" as MP4 video files behind the scenes — it's about 90% smaller than a real GIF and looks identical. When you use our Pinterest GIF downloader, you'll usually get an MP4. If you specifically need the GIF format (for example, to use in an email signature or older platform that doesn't support video), you can convert the MP4 with any free online converter.
How it works
Paste any Pinterest pin URL into the box above. video-pin auto-detects whether the pin is a GIF, video, or static image, and shows you the available download options. There's no separate "GIF mode" — the same tool handles everything.
Looking for video or images?
The same engine powers our Pinterest video downloader for video pins and Pinterest image downloader for static photos. Use whichever entry point — they all work identically.
